Apparently, we’re seeing Venus, Jupiter and a thin three-day-old crescent moon. What the photo doesn’t show, though, is how amazingly bright all three appear against the stars in the sky.

Black Friday protest to reject WA Police death decision
1points
The Western Australian Deaths in Custody Watch Committee is protesting the decision of local police, to lay no criminal charges against officers who arrested

Liz, I’m assuming this Friday?
This is what has my alarm bells ringing:
“An independent autopsy last year, confirmed Carl Woods suffered multiple blunt traumas to the face before his death and two teeth had broken away, with part of his jaw still intact.”

Yep, This Friday.
The Coroner’s preliminary report said he died of heart failure due to clogging of the arteries. However the posthumous photos of the sporadic bruising on the face of the deceased cannot be easily explained.
I understand DICWC(WA) will be displaying those photos during the rally,
Notably during the twelve months preceding that there was a break in the pattern of deaths in custody - a shift from most deaths in occurring in prison by suicide, to deaths in police custody (of Aboriginal men under the age of 39) predominantly by ‘external multiple traumas(AIC DIC Report 2006).

What about the police officers involved, doesnt their Duty of Care or Code of Conduct apply to their work performance and duties when they are dealing with Aboriginal people or is that just thrown out of the window.
I also wonder about their morals and ethics as human beings?
“A police spokesperson this week said, ‘thus far, the police investigation has not uncovered anything to warrant them (the officers) being charged, but if the Coroner was to find otherwise, then it would be referred back to the police and that would be reconsidered.’
He said the six officers have not been stood down and all are believed to be currently employed by WAPOL on active duty and that ‘no charges have been laid as a result of the investigations so far.’
Accountability must be made when a person’s life is lost by death. Especially when the person dies outnumbered and under suspicious circumstances.
If we as concerned members of the public dont question this behaviour then who can?
Law enforcement officers arent above the Law. And they need to be accountable for their decisions and actions.
Why is it that it has taken so long to do they
Dont hide behind your job……..because at the end of the day you cant hide behind your thoughts and memories of factual events, only you as the police officers who attended that night have to live with yourself, if you can.

Good to see PerthNorg being used to it’s full potential. I’m going to try and make it, but if not, I would love to hear from Cit Js who do.
This is our chance to put some real issues in the spotlight.
Thanks Liz, for bringing this to our attention - I had no idea about this.

Yes n-h, it hasn’t received much discussion in the msm, mostly public broadcasters like Radio National and RTR.
